SLCC Gets New Website

June 01, 2016

SHARON (06/01/2016) -- The Silver Lake Conference Center has a brand new website at silverlakect.org.

The new website features large, colorful photos of campers, staff and the facilities, simple navigation, blog posts and news articles. It is also "responsive," which means the layout will automatically adjust to whatever device it's being viewed on, whether phone, tablet or computer.

"Our ministry at Silver Lake is a vital and vibrant ministry. The newly designed website is a wonderful tool to help communicate the ministry and mission of our outdoor ministry in fresh and inspiring ways," said Conference Minister The Rev. Kent J. Siladi.

Silver Lake Administrator Jenn Kronholm Clark said the staff is very excited about the new site.

"The new look allows us to better show off the amazing things that happen at camp: friendship building, faith formation, challenge by choice, swimming, playing, singing, creating, and just plain having fun," she said. "We plan to offer more timely content through our blogs and news posts. We think this new website makes it easier for our friends and families to find the information they need, whether it's how to book a retreat or how to sign up for camp."

The site was built by Brick River Technologies in consultation with Silver Lake Executive Director Ryan Gackenheimer, Kronholm Clark, and Associate Conference Minister for Communications Tiffany Vail.

In a growing collaborative effort, the site shares the same back-end system as the Massachusetts Conference website, a system that will include the Connecticut and Rhode Island Conference websites as well.

"Having all of these websites housed in the same system means we will be able to share content across the sites," said Vail, who is managing communication for the three conferences. "For example, when we write a news story about Silver Lake, we'll be able to enter it in the system once and have it appear on both the Silver Lake and Connecticut Conference websites."

"The Brick River system is also very user-friendly, making it easy for Silver Lake staff to add and update content," Vail said. "That will ensure that the site continues to be lively and current."

Tiffany Vail is the Associate Conference Minister for Communications for the RI, MA, and CT Conferences.
