The 2021 Silver Lake Board of Directors

12/17/2020

The Silver Lake Board of Directors Charter charges the board to “ensure that the Silver Lake mission is clearly articulated and effectively realized, developing and overseeing the implementation of long term strategic & short term operational plans that result in a vital & viable ministry.” In the spirit of that charge, here’s an update on a few projects the Silver Lake Board is working on, heading into 2021.

Summer Camp:
The Silver Lake Board has enthusiastically endorsed the SLCC year round staff’s plan for summer camp in 2021. We are planning ways to work with the staff to promote and support our unique summer 2021 program. Interested in learning more about summer camp at Silver Lake? We can help!

Scholarships:
As with every summer at Silver Lake, we anticipate significant need for summer camp scholarships in 2021. We’re off to a good fundraising start, with money for scholarships donated on Giving Tuesday & at Stephanie Pitman’s virtual retirement party. If the constituents, churches, and/or associations you serve are interested in financially supporting Silver Lake’s ministry, please point them in the direction of our scholarship fund! https://www.silverlakect.org/donate-now or call Exec. Director, Rev. Ryan Gackenheimer, 860-364-5526. Thank you!

Education:
As the transition to a new conference continues with new staff and stakeholders, we are developing materials to get folks up to speed on what Silver Lake’s ministry is all about. The Board is producing a presentation for early 2021, on how Silver Lake makes disciples of Jesus, makes God’s love & justice real, brings new life as agents of change, & forms covenant partnerships.

New Board Members & a New Board Chair:
Speaking of transition, a new year will bring new members and new leadership to the Silver Lake Board of Directors.
