I love to golf. I love Silver Lake. If you bring those two things together what do you get? The Silver Lake Golf Tournament coming up on September 22nd at the Country Club of Waterbury.
I have played over the years in this tournament as a way to play golf with a great group of people and to contribute to the ministry of Silver Lake. This is one of the major fundraising events for Silver Lake. We know that the global pandemic has put a halt to this summer’s conference ministry. Now more than ever it is important for us to show our support to the life-changing, community building ministries that take place throughout the year.
If you are a golfer this is a great event. We have appreciated the support of churches and individuals who have made this a yearly outing and supported the tournament. You can play as a single or get a foursome of your own and join in the fun. If you are not a golfer you can still volunteer at the event and make a contribution to help this fundraiser be a great success.
I play golf for fun. This is definitely a tournament that stresses the fun rather than the competition (well for the most part). All levels of golfers are welcome and there are quite a few “duffers” who only play at this tournament. There is a raffle and great food to help cap off the day.
If you are a regular, I am sure you already have this date on your calendar. If you are considering playing this September you are warmly welcome to join us on the 22nd.
