The sun rises behind the cross on the ball field. |
What has two chapels, 60+ acres of Holy Ground, a garden, labyrinth, spirit-filled sunsets, is committed to caring for God’s Creation, and is a Spiritual home for thousands of children, youth, and adults? Hopefully you offered a resounding Silver Lake Conference Center.
Did you know Silver Lake is ready to welcome you and your family on retreat? In this unique world in which we are living, there are some exciting new opportunities. One of those is for you and/or your family to retreat at Silver Lake to be renewed, refreshed, and grounded in your faith.
I know many families are missing Sunday School, Youth Group, Church Camp & Retreats, and other Faith Formation opportunities at church and in the community. Now you have the chance to escape into creation and have an immersion in Christian Community. Bring your family or your roommates and retreat at Silver Lake. This is a great opportunity to listen anew for God calling in your midst. A chance to slow down, craft together, play games together, explore how the Spirit is moving in your life, share some scripture, pray together, discuss how you all are transitioning to the fall, with the start of school, work, and the weather. You could even have your own worship service (formal or totally informal) outside in the chapel or near the lakes edge.

A cozy space to retreat in the Lodge. |
October 1st Silver Lake will begin welcoming families (living together) and housemates to retreat at Silver Lake. We invite you to bring all you need (food, dishes, bedding, etc). We will provide the incredible setting, wonderful SLCC buildings, places to walk, run, and play, and the Holy Ground on which to roam, pray, renew, refresh, commune, be present, and to know you are love by God just the way you are.
