When I think of Christmas, and the Advent season leading up to it, a part of me reverts back to my childhood self - full of wonder and anticipation.
Wonder at the changing scenes of houses decorated with lights and wreaths, stores filled with red and green and silver and gold, and - if we're lucky - the first snowfall of the season covering the landscape and tucking the trees in for their long winters' nap.
My anticipation usually centers around the many activities, reunions with friends, and family gatherings that tend to fill the calendar in the weeks from Thanksgiving to New Years. The warmth, camaraderie, food, and comfort of being surrounded by those I love and that love me in a familiar and happy environment.
I don't yet know what my personal Christmas and Advent season will look like, but I know of one thing we all can look forward to with excited anticipation: Christmas at the Lake!
On Saturday, December 5th, begin the season of Advent with a family day of Christmas crafts, Advent reflection, Adventure Programming, snacks, warm drinks, & lunch around the campfire.
The program will begin at 10 a.m. and will run through 4 p.m.
