Parenting in a Pandemic

Thursday, July 9, 7 p.m.

Parents, join Rev. Molly Baskette, pastor and longtime Silver Lake chaplain, and child psychologist Ellen O’Donnell, Silver Lake mom, for a Zoom community conversation about grieving and creating ritual, giving our kids structure and support in this time of pandemic, helping our kids continue to fledge into autonomy without the glory of sleepaway camp, and how to claim your role as your child’s primary spiritual teacher even if you feel like a newbie to religion and spirituality yourself.

Weeding: A Devotion by Debby Kirk

Do-It-Yourself Home Communion & Blessing with Rev. Chris Mereschuk

The video includes a little bit of a lesson about the meaning of Communion, plus a blessing that families can share with one another.

Age Range: All
Supplies Needed: Something to eat and something to drink, plate and cup. (Optional: Items for an altar.)
