Thursday, July 9, 7 p.m.
Parents, join Rev. Molly Baskette, pastor and longtime Silver Lake chaplain, and child psychologist Ellen O’Donnell, Silver Lake mom, for a Zoom community conversation about grieving and creating ritual, giving our kids structure and support in this time of pandemic, helping our kids continue to fledge into autonomy without the glory of sleepaway camp, and how to claim your role as your child’s primary spiritual teacher even if you feel like a newbie to religion and spirituality yourself.
Communion is a reminder of our connection to God and to each other, and gives us a "foretaste" (preview) of what it will be like when we can gather together in person again. Silver Lake alum and UCC pastor Rev. Chris Mereschuk guides you through preparing and celebrating Communion at home in this video designed for all ages. The video includes a little bit of a lesson about the meaning of Communion, plus a blessing that families can share with one another.
