Silver Lake Summer Conferences

What is it like at Silver Lake?

Silver Lake has hosted thousands of summer 'conferees,' or campers, from age 9 through 19, and is now proudly hosting the second generation of children whose parents "grew up" here, for their own memory-making experience in a nurturing, inclusive environment of transformation.

Friends

It's a place to connect, make deep friendships, feel accepted for who you really are, embrace the outdoors, play, pray, create real community, engage in leadership and service experiences, take risks, emotionally, spiritually, and physically, in a safe place... under the umbrella of Outdoor Ministry.

Slide

It's having a cook-out by sunset down at the Lake; canoeing or kayaking with your new friends; it's taking a night hike under the stars; it's planning a worship on the dock or in one of the outdoor chapels. It's getting up early, to be a 'waiter' for breakfast, it's singing goofy songs complete with hand and hip motions, with two hundred other conferees in the social hall; it's racing across the ballfield during 'Alaskan Baseball,' it's getting a band-aid from the nurse, writing an original song or poem, or making a sculpture in the woods. It's toasting marshmallows by campfire, and being sung to sleep by counselors. It's all of this and more.

God Show

It's Silver Lake Conferences. Nothing else quite like it. Changing lives, week by week.

We offer over forty summer conferences each year for young people entering fourth grade through post high school. A volunteer leader or 'dean' leads each summer conference, and there is a 1:8 ratio of counselors to conferees, with a counselor in each bunkroom. Each conference is designed to offer an age appropriate program based on a specialized theme. We offer a selection of conferences for a variety of age groups each week and we urge people to choose conferences based on their theme description and grade level as described in our summer conference brochure and on line. Online registration is available.

Open houses are held the first and third Sundays in May. Come and see for yourself!
