Church Representatives

Each Church in the Conference will have one Church Representative for the Now for the Future Campaign.

Church Representatives’ responsibilities may be summarized as follows:

• Attend an Orientation Training session.

• Serve as a primary contact person and liaison between their church and the Campaign.

• Serve as a catalyst for support for Now for the Future in their church, enthusiastically encouraging their fellow members to join them in supporting the campaign.

• Church Representatives will work with their Pastors to coordinate their efforts in promoting the Campaign in their church, which may include planning strategies for recruiting their church’s Now for the Future Campaign Leadership, and scheduling a time for a Now for the Future Campaign Presenter to speak at their church during Sunday Worship.

• Church Representatives will work with their church’s Campaign Committee to make sure that their membership is well informed about the benefits of Now for the Future for their church.

• Working along with their church’s Campaign Committee, they will meet with church leadership and fellowship groups to provide information about the benefits of the Silver Lake Conference Center improvements, to nurture, motivate and inspire their fellow members to join them in generous giving through Now for the Future.

• The Church Representatives may be involved in encouraging their congregation to select a challenging Now for the Future goal. (The campaign giving period is five years.) They may suggest that their membership conduct a Partnership Capital Fund Campaign, which will enable their congregation to renovate their church’s facilities and at the same time raise funds for Now for the Future, in the most cost-effective manner.

• Church Representatives may be in contact with other Church Representatives to compare notes about which cultivation efforts are working best in their churches. They may create promotional materials that may be helpful for other churches, and they may ask the Campaign Steering Committee to assist them in publishing and distributing these materials, and may ask the Campaign Steering Committee to create specific promotional resources that may help them in their efforts.

• Additional tasks for the Church Representatives may be added as the campaign unfolds.
