A Silver Lake Tradition

A camp needs a lot of care. Silver Lake Conference Center faces the winters of the Litchfield Hills, and each spring must prepare itself again to welcome the hundreds of young people that make its summers so wondrous. With fall the equipment must be safely stored, the autumn leaves cleared, and all the housekeeping tasks accomplished so that year-round guests can stay in comfort and summer facilities preserved for another camping season.

Not just care: Silver Lake needs Action. Action Weekend each spring prepares the Conference Center for its summer actvities. Action Weekend each fall readies the camp for the storms of winter.

It's care, and it's work. It's fun with old friends and it's fellowship with new friends. It's cleaning and hauling and raking and clearing and cutting and the satisfaction of being a contributing part of the Silver Lake community.
